A believer in preventative health, Dr. Aleona Adele Oculam is a board certified internal medicine physician with UT Internal Medicine of Lafollette where she has practiced since 2005. Originally from Cebu, Philippines, Dr. Oculam attended Cebu Institute of Medicine in the Philippines and completed her residency at the Metropolitan Hospital Center in New York City.
Dr. Oculam speaks Filipino and has areas of clinical interest with lipids and women’s health.
“I chose primary care as my specialty because it enables me to care for patients first hand and focus on preventative health,” she says. “I hope to make an impact on each patient’s lifestyle.”
In 2000, Dr. Oculam received the award for “Most Humanistic Resident” during her internal medicine residency at the Metropolitan Hospital Center in New York City.
Dr. Oculam and her husband, Claire, have three children: Cid, 13; Cara, 11; and Cade, 5. In her free time, Dr. Oculam enjoys reading, word games and spending time with her children.
